VanHoy Farms, June, 2003 Trip Report
Janet and I arrived at VanHoy Farms for the June campout at about 2 am, because we attended the Harry Potter debut parties at 3 different bookstores in Charlotte! We have both finished Order of the Phoenix, and it is great!

Once we woke up on Saturday, we joined many of the club members for a trip to "the Amish store." We got a bit lost on the way, but enjoyed the pastoral scenery. Our carload spent much of the time reminiscing of times spent on farms while growing up. We did see a few Amish buggies parked at farms, but none on the road. The Amish store turned out to be the Community Market--a very small store with all sorts of home-baked goods, baking mixes, nuts, seasonings, candy, produce and more. We bought some wonderful sourdough bread!

Teresa teaches first aid
Later that afternoon, we learned first aid from Teresa and learned about the legal issues of offering first aid from Sharon. Paul did a great job arranging the activity. Supper was covered dish. We had wonderful food and fun!
VanHoy Farms has a huge amphitheater and a stainless-steel swimming pool, but I unfortunately don't have any photos of them. I think we all had a great time camping there!

Summary: Nice campground. I've seen nicer bathrooms, and the covered area where we had supper was a long way from our campsites, but in general it was good. I wish I had seen the pool!
