Main Street USA is where you enter the park, and
is a recreation of turn-of-the-century small town America. You walk under
the train station to enter. Main Street features shops and restaurants
along both sides, and if you look carefully you'll see names in the upper
windows of the shops. These serve like the "opening credits"
for the park. Walt's name is above the ice cream shop, because his brother
Roy wanted him to always be facing the Castle. Casey's Corner at the left
side of the end of Main Street has the best hot dogs I've ever tasted.
If it's raining or a parade is crowding the street, the stores are all
connected so you can walk through all of Main Street without going outside.

Tomorrowland is to the right at the end of Main
Street, and features Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin,
Carousel of Progress (one of Walt's rides, but only open seasonally now),
The Timekeeper (when it's open), Stitch's Great Escape (Magic Kingdom's
newest ride), The Tomorrowland Transit Authority and more. It's theme
is the future, as it was envisioned in the 40's and 50's.
-
Fantasyland is next around the circle, and it is
themed to feature children's storybook characters (although ALL the rides
are appropriate for adults, too). It features Cinderella's Carrousel,
Dumbo, Peter Pan's Flight, Winnie The Pooh, Snow White's Scary Adventure,
Mickey's Philharmagic (a 3-d movie, not to be missed!), It's a Small World
and more. This area is often clogged with parked strollers, and is often
best done early in the morning or late in the evening.
-
Mickey's Toontown Fair is next, and it is the newest
land. It doesn't connect to the "hub" of the park, but can be
accessed via Fantasyland, a walkway from Tomorrowland, or by the train.
It's sort of between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, toward the rear of
the park. It includes Mickey and Minnie's houses, a "Judge's Tent"
where you can meet Mickey and other characters, Goofy's Barnstormer -
a great beginning roller coaster, Donald's Boat which is a water play
area, and other fun things to see. This is a kid's paradise, too, and
we generally only go through here to meet characters or catch the train.
I want to ride the Barnstormer, though!
-
Next is Liberty Square, featuring the Hall of Presidents
and the Haunted Mansion, as well as a few shops (the Christmas shop is
here) and restaurants. This colonial-themed area also has the Liberty
Tree, which has a lantern for each of the 13 colonies hanging from it's
branches.
-
Next up, Frontierland, a wild-west themed area
with Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, a shootin' arcade, and the
Country Bear Jamboree. There's a train station here, too.
-
Finally, Adventureland, with Pirates of the Caribbean,
the Tiki Room, Aladdin's Magic Carpets surrounded by a traditional Bazaar,
the Swiss Family Treehouse, and the Jungle Cruise.
